We live in a fast-paced world and sometimes it’s hard to remember to focus on what’s most important. Being the best possible parent to help our children successfully become who they’re meant to be is one of those things.
Whether you are a single parent or have a parenting partner, whether you are the biological parent of your child or not, or whether you are a grandparent returning to the parenting role – if you are responsible for day-to-day care of a child, then you are a parent!
Every family is unique and special, but many parents face similar issues. Good children sometimes have not-so-great behavior. Pre-teens and teens are wired to push back against parental authority in the quest for identity, and that sometimes creates problems at home. And then there is the issue of screentime – how much is too much? Sometimes you might wonder “what’s normal?” and “what should I do?”
Good news! For years I have helped parents navigate the challenges of today’s world. With some wisdom and humor, I can help parents determine what’s healthy and appropriate for their children from early childhood through the teen years. Some of my best strategies are now available in my video series Conative Parenting: The Basics. I am also available for workshops and personalized speaking engagements.
Good parents are always on the lookout for ways to help their children grow into the person they were meant to be. Allow me to help provide tools for your toolkit to make the job a bit more manageable.
